During the morning of 5 and 6 March, Dr. Alejandro Corvalan, ACCDIS lead researcher to participate in Stanford Gastric Cancer Summit, United States, where he will give a talk on the "Gastric Cancer Campaigns in Southern Chile: social responsibility and scientific initiatives".

Currently Dr.. Corvalan, together with his lab he has studied the function of encoding and non-encoder genes, not only in the pathogenesis of gastric cancer and precancerous lesions, but they are also looking for new biomarkers for the non-invasive diagnosis of the disease. This research led them to identify cell-free DNA-based biomarkers that are now beginning to be analyzed on high-risk injuries.
