Dr. Sergio Lavandero: “We need to enshrine science as a Constitutional right”

The Chilean Academy of Sciences Presented a proposal to the Constitutional Convention to incorporate science into the new Constitution. In this respect, the Dr. Sergio Lavandero, Director of the Center for advanced chronic diseases, noted on Radio Usach: "We are dedicated to studying to contribute and develop this comparative document of magna cartas. The reception was spectacular".

"We need to enshrine science as a constitutional right to generate a knowledge society and the development of public policies., promote research along with securing state funding", said the researcher.

And he ended by emphasizing the urgency of "stimulate scientific development at the country level, not only concentrated in Santiago or in the main universities to promote associativity".
