The goal of the ACCDiS is to consolidate itself in the coming years as a benchmark in research and training of advanced human resources specialized in chronic diseases, analyzing the two main problems of health for the population: cancer and cardiovascular diseases. From now on, new lines of research will be developed at the ACCDiS. For example: Metabolic signaling in heart failure, Biomarkers of Gender Differences in Heart Failure, tumor cell biology and inflammation, Scenarios in Gastric Cancer, natural history of digestive cancer, Nanomedicine and Chemical Science for the Diagnosis and Therapy of Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases, and mechanisms associated with metabolically healthy and unhealthy obesity: Role of inflammation and communication mediated by extracellular vesicles.
"This is a two-year project where we have incorporated mathematics and artificial intelligence applied to these chronic diseases. To do this, Dr. Sandra Cortés from the Catholic University, Dr. Laura Huidobro from the Catholic University of Maule and Dr. Mariana Cifuentes, who looks at the issue of obesity in men and women.
