Chilean researchers develop the first virtual model of the heart

Dr. Daniel Hurtado, Associate Professor of the Institute of biological engineering and medical of the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile, a scientific team developed the first virtual heart. This progress will allow better understanding of the functioning of the heart and its anomalies, as well as better plan surgeries and develop cardiac devices by means of virtual reconstruction. Recently, the researcher was recognized as one of the 10 global scientific promises at the World Economic Forum (WEF), due to his career in research and design of an electronic device that monitors the flow of artificial airway.
