On October 4th, Human Genome Stem Cell Research Center scientist and academic Universidad de Sao Paulo (Brazil), Michel Naslavsky, presented the talk "What we learn from sequencing a large cohort of elderly from Brazil?”, within the framework of the Seminar on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology organized by ACCDiS.

Asked for your experience during your visit to Chile, Dr. Naslavsky commented that "we have prospects of working together to develop a genomic analysis platform; In addition, we would like to draw comparisons between the populations of Brazil and Chile as we have many things in common: the social structure, demographic structure, our genomic differences. We want to see if there's a way to analyze the health risks of some diseases, comparing population incidence".

In both, the academic of the U. Sao Paulo took advantage of making some assessments about the cohort MAUCO, stating that "I believe that when she is fully sequenced it will be a great resource for Chile, both for researchers at universities and for industry, because there is a very great interest in knowing the distribution of the genetic diversity of the population. No doubt, there are very high expectations about their results", completed.
