To celebrate the start of Explora Week, the project PAR Explores Northern Metropolitan Region, executed by the University of Chile through the Advanced Chronic Diseases Center (ACCDiS ), will hold the event for the first time "EUREKA Science is, dare to live it!”, a free activity where the whole family can enjoy science and technology in a simple and didactic way. This festival will take place next Sunday, October 6, in the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (Gam), out of 10:00 and 19 o'clock:00 hours.

The meeting will feature a diverse programmatic grid, that mixes entertainment with the delivery of scientific and technological knowledge, and includes live music, Workshops, interactive exhibitions, Games, Experiments, conversations, Storytelling, plays and an entertaining urban intervention.

The event will present to climate change and the sun as the two main themes of 2019, in the context of the development of the COP25, to be held in Chile next December, and the season of total solar eclipses (which happened last July and those that will occur in December 2020 and 2021).

Two spaces to experience science and technology

The festival EUREKA! it will have two large areas where various activities will be carried out that will incorporate playful and striking elements to achieve a perfect rapprochement between science, technology and society. In the area of the Baselo square of the GAM will be "A journey through science", where 22 stands will be located and the main stage, where various university and private institutions will showcase their activities and developments through scientific workshops, conversations, plays, various scientific shows and, In addition, the making of a live mural by scientist and graffiti agent Andro Montoya.

These institutions include CIGIDEN, iBio Millennium Institute, Advanced Center for chronic diseases (ACCDiS ), Eolian Auto Solar, National Association of Biochemistry Students (ANEB Chile), THINKey, Chilean Mathematics Society, National Community of Science and Innovation (CON-SCIENCE), Manuel Foster Historical Observatory, PUC School of Biological Sciences, UC Biomedicine Portal, Chilean Agency for Food Safety and Quality (ACHIPIA), Secretary of Extension of the School of chemical sciences and pharmaceutical of the University of Chile (EXTENCIQYF), UC School of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Roan Jasé Observatory, Millennium Planetary Formation Core, Art+Science Foundation, Science Communication Center, Renata Foundation, Ideo Maker, Millennium Institute of Astrophysics (More), The Mars Society Chile and Planned Foundation.

In both, universities will also say present at this scientific event, which will have the participation of the Central University, St. Thomas University, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Bernardo O'Higgins University, Autonomous University of Chile, Development University and University of Chile.

In addition, in a second area located in GAM's Image Square, we'll find the interactive stands, teaching workshops for the general public and the "Kids Zone" sector where children will be able to conduct experiments, listen to the storytellers of science, observe the birds of the city and a series of entertaining surprise activities prepared for the little ones.
