Researchers from Mexico and Chile join together to work interdisciplinary

In a joint effort to promote scientific research and academic training, the Advanced Center for Chronic Diseases (ACCDIS) and the Institute of Technology and Higher Studies of Monterrey, during the afternoon of today, September 29, 2023, signed the collaboration agreement between both institutions.

The objective of the agreement is to establish the bases of collaboration to carry out joint actions in research and academic training. In this sense, both institutions committed to pooling their capabilities and resources to carry out joint research projects, training of students and researchers, dissemination of academic materials, among other commitments.

Collaboration activities

Among the activities that both institutions will carry out as part of this new international collaboration include carrying out joint research projects, disseminating scientific publications, extension activities for the appreciation of science in society, as well as mobility. of undergraduate – postgraduate students, and the mobility of research professors.

“This agreement represents an important step in the development of scientific research and internalization of our center and will be a great opportunity for collaboration between both institutions. In the sciences it is essential to generate synergies and alliances with international institutions of academic prestige.” We hope to achieve significant advances in our respective areas of research, said Dr. Sergio Lavandero, director of ACCDIS.

The agreement was signed, after the participation of Dr. Gerardo Rivas, rrepresentative and leader of the Experimental Medicine and Advanced Therapies Unit of the Obesity Research Institute of the Tecnológico de Monterrey and researcher at the Obesity Research Institute, who participated in the ACCDIS Seminar cycle. , offering a talk on “Abnormal deregulation of calcium balance and energy dysfunction in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF)”, developed at the Faculty of Sciences, Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals at the University of Chile.
