A group of researchers, representatives of the Centres for the Control and prevention of diseases (CDC) They recently participated in a new edition of the meeting "meeting MAUCO”.

The event also featured the collaborators ACCDiS - MAUCO Andrea Huidobro and Vanessa Van de Wyngard, those who accompanied the members of CDC during the visit.

MAUCO is a research study of population base seeking to learn about the natural history and the protective factors and risk of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and cancer. It takes place in the town of Molina, located in the Maule Region.

Of particular interest is the town of Molina, because in recent decades happened to be malnourished to intake excess caloric and currently has the highest national rates of cardiovascular diseases, stomach cancer and gallbladder cancer.
