Dr. Gareth Owen, who also belongs to the Advanced Center for Chronic Diseases (ACCDiS ) and the Millennium Institute in Immunology and Immunotherapy, is working with their medical colleagues to find markers that allow the selection of the optimal treatment for each patient.
The doctor adds: "Although we never talk about a cure, we are extremely optimistic that personalized medicine will greatly increase the quality of life and extend the survival of cancer patients".
