ACCDiS is a Research Center in priority areas of ANID's FONDAP initiative, composed of academics from the University of Chile and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. It aims to understand and prevent chronic noncommunicable diseases, with particular emphasis on the study of cancer and cardiovascular disease.

One of the main missions of ACCDiS is to contribute to the training of new researchers with a vocation to country problems in the area of health. For this purpose, convenes a new postdoctoral position contest aimed at young people with a recent degree of doctor in health science disciplines and who have an interest in developing cooperative research between two or more of the center's following priority lines of research:

  • Study of mechanisms responsible for the genesis and development of heart failure
  • Biomarkers and gender differences in the development of heart failure
  • Tumor cell biology and inflammation
  • Epigenomic landscapes in gastric cancer
  • Epidemiology of digestive cancers
  • Nanomedicine and chemical sciences for the diagnosis and therapy of cancer and cardiovascular disease

As part of strategies to support talent training and management in the context of the COVID-19 Pandemic, in this 2021 call, extends to both new postdoctoral and former ACCDiS postdoctoral.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS (ATTACH AT THE TIME OF Apply)

  • Letter of motivation and interest (1 page).
  • Extensive curriculum vitae that includes list of academic achievements and publications.
  • Copying academic degrees and degrees.
  • Being in possession of the doctor's degree obtained in the last two years at a national or foreign university. In the case of researchers, this requirement will be extended by an additional year for each child born in the. In this case, attach birth certificates, if applicable. (Only for new postdoctoral agents in ACCDiS)
  • Two letters of references from researchers outside the Center. (Only for new postdoctoral people at ACCDiS)
  • Have definitive residence in Chile (for foreigners).

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Interest in addressing problems related to chronic noncommunicable diseases.
  • Academic trajectory and scientific productivity of the applicant
  • Desirable experience in the specific areas requested for the postdoctoral position
  • Leadership capacity, teamwork and proactivity
  • Desirable advanced English language handling – Personal interview
  • Willingness to develop collaborative work between two or more research lines at the centre.

SELECTION DATES
