University of Chile will give first diploma in Bioinformatics of the country

From May 13, 2019 will be taught - in dependencies of the School of chemical sciences and pharmaceutical of the University of Chile– the Postgraduate Diploma in Bioinformatics and computational biology that, Until now, It is the deepest program carried out in Chile in this area.

Classes will be held Mondays, Wednesday and Friday from 18:30-21:30 hours, completing a total of 162 hours, divided into eleven modules of study.

In this respect, academic and teaching the Diploma Coordinator, Dr. Vinicius Maracajá-Coutinho said that "the program is very important, Since it is the first specific to bioinformatics postgraduate. With him, We want to make progress in genomic studies in Chile, currently there is a great deficit of professionals in the area. We need people trained to be able to dedicate to this topic".

The requirements to apply to this program are to be in possession of a professional degree, or a degree - equivalent to the degree awarded by the University of Chile- in the area of life sciences, health or exact.
