Recently three researchers from the Advanced Center for Chronic Diseases ACCDIS, belonging to the University of Chile, were highlighted among the best scientists in the world and in Chile, for his studies in biology and biochemistry. This recognition was granted by Research.com in its first edition of the ranking.

In this first edition, 23,129 profiles of scientists studying biology and biochemistry in the world were examined., of which 17 researchers represent research in Chile and belong to various universities and institutes. The ranking evaluated the scientific production, publications and citations collected until December 6, 2021.

Among the researchers recognized in Chile, is the academic of the University of Chile and also director of the Advanced Center for Chronic Diseases (ACCDIS) Sergio Lavandero, who is ranked number 1,650 worldwide and number two in Chile.
