Sandra Cortés calls on the population to become aware and comply with COVID-19 prevention measures
During yesterday's day, Dr. Sandra Cortés President of the Chilean Epidemiology Society and accDIS researcher spoke over the phone with Andrea Obaid, driver of the radio program "Your New DNA".
In the interview, the epidemiologist stressed "We are in a pandemic" people must become aware and properly comply with quarantine, as well as the prevention measures indicated by the World Health Organization.
The doctor reiterated the need to stay home if possible, don't go to the malls, avoid compulsive visit in supermarkets "it is better to go to the nearest warehouse" and when you arrive at the house it is necessary to change clothes and shoes, wash your hands very well and maintain the usual hygiene measures.
On the other hand, COVID-19 is a new virus where it is unknown how it will progress in the country, therefore it is important to implement a number of prevention strategies, the call is to continue to make the recommendations delivered by the Covid-19 Advisory Council of the Ministry of Health, who established the need to close the border, restrict all activities where more than 10 people are aglorated, expand the ability of free diagnosis for exams and continue to close schools.
