The event, organized by ACCDiS, will be held on 13 and 14 December in the Central House of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.

A new version of the International Symposium on integrative bioinformatics will be held during the month of December in our country. The appointment seeks to connect information with the economy technology, human health and conservation through bioinformatics, In addition to promoting interaction between students, professionals and academics related to disciplines relevant to this area of work.

SIBI 2018 will count with the participation of ten exhibitors representing ten Chilean universities, In addition to six from international guests from Argentina, Brazil and Peru. These researchers will cover topics such as artificial intelligence applied to natural sciences, analysis of sequences, evolution and phylogenetics, Genomic comparison, structure and interaction of proteins, biological interaction networks, databases and data integration, text and data mining, genetic conservation and human health, among others.

In this respect, the researcher of ACCDiS and the School of chemical sciences and pharmaceutical of the University of Chile, Vinicius Maracajá-Coutinho, He said that "our aim is to establish an annual meeting in the area of bioinformatics, and generate instances in which students, researchers and representatives from companies in Latin America to interact, generate and disseminate knowledge".

The second International Symposium on integrative bioinformatics is an initiative organized by ACCDiS in conjunction with the PhD in medical sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Bioinformatics Multidisciplinary Environment, the School of chemical sciences and pharmaceutical of the University of Chile, the PhD in Molecular and cell biology applied sciences the Universidad de La Frontera and the Laboratory of Integrative Bioinformatics University of Chile.
